Meet Our Founder

James is a Chartered Surveyor with nearly two decades of diverse property experience across both the public and private sectors. He qualified in 2008 and began his career in Central London with a leading national firm, before founding Charlecote Estates in 2010. The business forms part of the Charlecote Group, which has a trading history spanning over 40 years. James brings a unique blend of commercial acumen and technical expertise to the business, having worked extensively in general practice, valuation, asset management, and building surveying.

 

At Charlecote Estates, James oversees day-to-day operations while remaining closely involved in all aspects of the business—from acquisitions, disposals, and valuations to development strategy and complex portfolio management. His project experience spans office, retail, and industrial assets, and includes everything from rent reviews and lease negotiations to full-scale refurbishments and Grade II listed building conversions.

 

James is known for his hands-on approach, strategic mindset, and commitment to delivering clear, commercially focused advice. Over the years, he has led major property initiatives, built high-performing teams, and helped clients unlock long-term value across a wide range of asset classes.

 

Outside of work, James is a passionate motor racing enthusiast and petrolhead, and when time allows, can often be found on the slopes pursuing his love of skiing.
